SMS Education Solutions is proud to announce the general availability of SMS HIPAA University for all Healthcare industry customers. Both SMS and non-SMS Healthcare industry customers can access interactive multimedia courseware (computer-based training courses), delivered on-line via the Internet, to learn about the details of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). They can browse the SMS HIPAA University On-line Learning Catalog to checkout what courses are available, see a preview of each course, purchase and take the courses on-line at their own convenience wherever and whenever they want.

SMS HIPAA Central at www.smed.com

Healthcare industry customers will access SMS HIPAA University via the
World Wide Web by logging on to www.smed.com and clicking on "SMS HIPAA Central". The courses are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and contain the latest up-to-date HIPAA legislation and standards information focusing on organizational impacts and preparation strategies. They are updated immediately on-line, as new information is introduced, changed, and finalized.

Courseware Available Now:

1. HIPAA Overview
The HIPAA Overview course will introduce participants to the major objectives and components of the HIPAA legislation, in particular, Administrative Simplification.

2. HIPAA Identifiers
The HIPAA Identifiers course will educate participants on HIPAA-mandated identifier standards, learn about the issues and impacts expected from the implementation of the identifiers and what health enterprises can do now to prepare.
