CMS Announces an Improved Website

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is pleased to announce the new and improved CMS website located at www.cms.hhs.gov.

The new website employs a user-friendly design to get visitors the information they need with the least amount of clicks. It introduces one-stop shopping "centers" targeted to specific professionals such as providers and partners, who frequent the site.

Once you go to this site, then for HIPAA information, you need to click on Regulations & Guidance to get to “HIPAA Administrative Simplification”. Then you have a choice of the following selections:

HIPAA - General Information

Educational Materials

Employer Identifier Standard

Enforcement

National Provider Identifier Standard (NPI)

Security Standard

Transactions & Code Sets Standard

CMS will continue to evaluate the new website in order to provide the best organization and navigation - so you, as a user, can continue to retrieve the information you are looking for in the most efficient way possible.
